Tip:
Don’t add “protein powder” to your oatmeal for a boost in protein. It takes like chalk. Well, at least the vegan rice protein powder I added to mine this morning did. Ick.
I want to add more protein to my oatmeal but I can’t think of anything else other than protein powder. Hmm.
Edited to reply to notes: not vegan, but have a long list of don’ts, egg whites are ok...

Tired
Work held my shift for 12 hrs tonight, 4 extra hrs than normal. Totally wasn’t prepared because it’s two days til christmas & I thought we’d be slow.
On my way home at 2:45am got pulled over by a cop because I weaved a little on the highway. Explained I worked a long shift & was tired and received no ticket. I’m thankful for that anyway. Side note: the cop looked...

Package!
I just opened a package from my Tumblr Buddy, but each gift is beautifully wrapped with a neat tag note on each, and I can’t decide if I should wait and open them on Christmas or not…I probably won’t stand a chance to wait that long. :) Pictures to come in a few.
vegetables
I have been eating more fruits & veggies since August but only yesterday I checked to see how many per day I should be eating. I am on target with fruit but only 1 or 1.5 cups out of 2.5 cups per day. My problem is that I can’t eat veggies with a lot of insoluble fiber unless I cook the heck out of them.
Any suggestions on how to eat more veggies?

Thankful
Even though I bitched about thanksgiving plans and the hectic-ness, I am very thankful that I have family and friends to spend with on thanksgiving.
and that’s about as mushy as I will get about thanksgiving.
Things that keep me sane
Emailing back and forth with my sister when I’m throwing a pity party.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving started out as a good idea, but it has turned into this holiday that I kind of despise. Don’t get me wrong, I like making food for people, and eating good food. BUT… I don’t like families insisting asking us to come over to eat more right after eating our first thanksgiving. Being pulled in 3 different directions on a day that is supposed to be about being thankful...
Days Off
Both of my days off have been spent sick in bed so I am looking forward to next week & having some fun time cooking/baking & all around fun. That is, if I can beat this monster of a cold before then.
Even if I have to work on Thanksgiving it will be nice to have a day off with out coughing & bed head.
Diet
I recently started cutting out dairy & eggs out of my diet for (personal) health reasons to see if it would help a certain issue I have. It has helped a lot even though I sometimes have those items in small amounts in baked items, frozen meals or out to eat. The easiest way for me to find recipes has been to search for vegan recipes but adding small amounts of poultry or meat when I want to. ...
Sick
I am such a wimp when it comes to being sick. I am on day 3 of a cold and last night was awful. Lots of coughing and interrupted sleep. I did eventually take some medicine and get some sleep.
I am grateful for my healthier immune system. I haven’t had a cold since last fall.
I am also grateful that I didn’t get sick during the holiday rush at work. (I work for the USPS.) That...
Sleep
I don’t do well with a lack of sleep. Yesterday I went to a pre-black friday sale at a yarn store at 4:30am. Of course I came home and took a short nap but last night I was preoccupied with something on my life to do list and could not go to sleep! I am so tired this morning. I am helping my aunt with her booth at a catholic craft show. We have to stand up all day on concrete and then take...

Blue Eyes
I have brown eyes, as do my parents. Sam has blue eyes, as do both his parents. Apparently I forgot the part in biology where we touched on eye color dominant genes and Sam told reminded me that our kids will have blue eyes.
It just makes me (superficially, in more ways than one) a little jealous, because they’ll look less like me.

Dr Who season finale thoughts
* The more I think about the episode the more I like it.
* Maybe it’s because I have ovaries, but the bowtie hand fasting scene was ‘wicked’, as Donna would say.
* And the long hair was quite nice too.
* It didn’t feel like a season finale though & that was a little disappointing.
* I want to make one of those eye patches for Halloween.
